TEKNOR APEX Medium Duty Stage 2 Review

DO NOT BUY this hose; it doesn't stand up to what most people think as normal use. Within 6 weeks of purchase, the hose developed a half-dozen bulges in it -- it looked like a python that couldn't digest its meal. I have been gardening for nearly 30 years, and I have NEVER before had a hose do this. I took photos and emailed Apex; its rep said that was caused by leaving water pressure in the hose too long. Now, I know enough to shut off/empty the hose overnight -- but he said "If the hose is left on for several hours...kept under pressure for extended periods of time. Doing so may cause this to happen and eventually cause the hose to burst because the inner walls of the hose have been weakened by the pressure building up inside of it."And that voids the warranty.

I've talked to many people -- and, as myself, none water a part of the garden (or while washing the car), then shut off the spigot until they need the hose again -- they leave it on while they're outdoors, using the water from time to time.EVIDENTLY, Apex does no focus groups, to find out HOW people use its products; it just creates a product, puts it in the marketplace, and makes a sale -- ONCE -- and doesn't have to worry about its "7 year warranty."

The REAL shame about this -- I bought it because it was USA-made. That'll teach me.
