Good quality, engine seems to be solid (I have onlyrun 50 or so gallons of mix through the sprayer so far- at least it starts and runs fine). It IS a heavy booger though when fully loaded as the previous reviewer mentioned, but it is a professional level unit made for someonethat is used to lugging a sprayer up hill and dale day in/day out.
No leaks on my unit.
My one BIG complaint is that it did not come with a hip belt. Keeping in mind that this thing weighs in the neighborhood of 70 lbs when fully loaded- that is unacceptable. I jury rigged a temporary belt with some webbing and a cam over buckle and I have a generic replacement hip belt for a camping backpack ordered to permanently equip it properly.
Crank up the throttle with proper nozzle setting and the 818 will easily reach 20+ feet high.
As for the mist/drift problem previously mentioned, SP makes PSI limiters that you can install inline and get down to whatever volume/spray pattern you might need with the proper nozzle selection.
I purchased it to spray taller invasive species (Black Locust, Kudzu that has climbed up trees) and to spray over/into large, impenetrable thickets. To those ends it fits the bill nicely.
