Swan SN58R015 5/8-Inch x 15-Foot Remnant Garden Hose Review

My garden hose was just a few feet too short to reach a few areas of my lawn, and rather than buying a longer hose, I decided it would make sense to get an "extension."This product was very inexpensive, so even with some bad reviews, I figured I'd give it a shot.Well, I've already have it connected to my hose, and it works just fine! The description said, color may vary, but I got a green one, which matches my hose.It came with a washer, which prevented any leakage, and I couldn't be happier.Give this a try!

Apex 6612-100 AquaPure Neverkink Eco-Smart and Family Safe 9/16-Inch by 100-Foot Garden Hose Review

We have been using this hose all summer and it really works. We haven't had a kink and it is sturdy. I was unsure how it would compare to a regular hose you can pick up anywhere and rest assured, it is as strong and durable. I also love having the peace of mind while we water our veggie garden.

Plastair SpringHose PUWE650B94H-AMZ 50-Foot 3/8-Inch Polyurethane Coil Garden Hose, Green Review

It looked like a good idea, a coiled hose, small "footprint", no tangling - just a "slinky" hose. However, not only is the hose prone to major tangling (one loop grabs the next loop or a loop 5 feet down the hose), but because it's coiled, one must place tension on the hose to keep it in place....although one can drag the hose and sprinkler to a location, if the location is even a foot further than the "resting stage" of the coiled hose, look out - the hose will spring back together, complete with the sprinkler in tow!

I've also found the water pressure to be affected (negatively) either by the actual size of the hose/tube or the fact that the water must be pushed through a myriad of circles/loops to find its way to the sprinkler/end of the hose. All in all, a major disappointment.

Apex 7612-50 NeverKink Boat and Camper 2000 1/2-Inch-by-50-Foot Hose Review

I've used this hose for over a year out on my deck. I like to drink out of the hose when I'm watering my garden and so I got this hose for that reason. I'm delighted with it. I have many kinds of hoses on the farm here but this is my favorite. I'm in a wheelchair and the smaller diameter makes for easy handleing and a small "bump" when I roll over it. I have never had it kink. Ever. After a summer/winter/summer all outdoors I can wipe the surface and it looks brand new. No signs of any wear. Get this hose and I think you'll be very pleased. If you let your kids play with a garden hose they WILL drink out of it. Better safe than sorry. A nice product.

Plastair SpringHose Deluxe PUW875B94H-AMZ 75-Foot 1/2-Inch Polyurethane Coil Garden Hose, Green Review

Got tired of dragging the rubber hose around and I'm so happy I tried this style. No coiling the hose back up so more energy to devote to the garden. Does have slightly less water pressure but that's an OK trade off.

Ames True Temper 2388100 65-Foot Cassette Hose King Reel Review

I say that but there may be big ol' wheely cart like things out there that are better and hold lots more hose, but for those of you who don't want a giant piece of funky looking stuff to store or haul around but rather a reliable convenient hose real that doesn't stick out and look cheap and ugly butworks,....then this would be the one.And BELIEVE ME I have tried lots of hose reels!
I loath most of them and especially the way they trash up a yard.I got an extra 25 ft of hose in case I needed more length. It only holds so much and we find we are using the 25 extra ft on occasion as well. (we have a long driveway)
25 ft of hose is easy to mess with and can just sit by the faucet coiled up neatly.
The only improvement I could see them using on this would be to put a little weight on the bottom of it because if the ground is not completely level it falls over sometimes when one is pulling the hose out.Not a biggy,...still works.
It's SO easy just to pick it up and take it from our back yard to the front yard.
I will bring it in in the winter and it will be very easy to store because it takes up very little space.
This is the only hose reel I've ever had that doesn't make me feel like ripping my hair out!Always works smoothly.
UPDATE MARCH 26, 2009: I'm here to give this two thumbs up for durability! All the rest of the reels I've had have fallen apart by now or quit working smoothly. This one is still working like new.I really like it- it isn't nearly as cumbersome to use as the rest of the competition!!

Gilmour 10 Series 8 Ply Flexogen Hose 1/2 inch x 50 Feet #10-12050 Green Review

I have four of these, two of them are twenty years old.One of them sits on the south side of the house, so it is bathed in sunlight year round.

The only time I had a problem was when the water pressure was too high.I thought I would have to cut the ends off and send them in for a new hose, which is how their warranty works, but the water heater started leaking, and I found out the water pressure was way too high, so had a pressure valve and new water heater installed and when that was done, the one that was leaking stopped leaking around the part you screw onto the faucet. This pretty much amazed me that it was not the hose going bad after twenty years.

Another thing I like is that it is pretty thick, and when you coil it up, it doesn't fold like those cheap hoses, and it seems less likely to kink because of this. They also have stayed pretty clean, we have a lot of humidity and I have had garden hoses that get covered with mildew, but not these.

I like quality merchandise and these hoses are just that. What else can you buy once and never worry about having to buy again? Not much these days.
