Jackson 2517000 Decorative Metal Hose Reel Cart With 150-Foot Hose Capacity Review

This hose reel, although it is made of metal,the construction is so poor that the plastic reel I had lasted for 8 years with no problem. This reel broke down while I was rolling it up for the first time ,it shot out a elbow connection from the side and cannot be repaired . The company's customer service wants the unit back but doesn't provide a postage back, the UPS cost is 40.00 which is just about half the cost of the reel.I will be scraping it .Don't Buy this!

It also has a "U" designation after the # of the product I received but does not have that designation when I ordered the item. The hose is excellent quality. The only reason I kept it is because I could use the connecters.

Ray Padula RP-SRIW-2 28-Inch Reach It Professional Water Wand Review

This is a great watering wand. I am not a professional, but it is sooooo much better than the hose handle! There are many settings on the dial for shower, jet, mist, spray, etc., and you can dial in between the settings for just the right dispersion of water. The head moves up and down for hard to reach places or to make the water shoot farther away. It is perfect for my rock garden because I can set it so that it doesn't wash away the dirt, mulch and decorative tiny stones. It has an on and off setting so you don't waste water. Similar watering wands are selling at my local nursery for about twice the price, so I am super happy with this purchase.

I have 4 of these and two have already broken.I bought them hoping they would be better than Melnor's previous model (bigger, rectangular looking green thing) which all four broke within a year.
NOTE, I take very good care of all of my tools.Change batteries, bring in during the winter, etc.This is a quality problem, not a user problem.
I have lost plants and wasted a ton of time messing with these things, changing batteries, looking for receipts, etc.

Claber Kiros Portable Garden Hose Reel 8921 Review

I loved the design of this product and I was looking forward to having a better hose reel.....but I was very dessapointed when it arrived in the mail. It is so small, it cannot accomodate a regular US garden hose. Maybe in Italy where it was made is OK, but not by American standards. Loved the design, very dessapointed of the small size of it.

Flexon FR5880 5/8-Inch x 50-Foot 3-Ply Light Duty Garden Hose Review

If I could give this item zero stars, I would. At least in warm weather (high 70's), the off-gassing is so extreme that the whole front yard smelled like toxic chemicals. The water smelled equally strongly of chemicals. I got the odor on my hands and it took 24 hours to wear off even with repeated washings. I know how to coil a hose because my father taught me how to do it correctly. This hose was virtually impossible to coil. It's extremely soft and kinks instead of bending. Even laying it out in a completely straight line before coiling (the proper way to set up a hose for coiling) didn't help as the hose would kink within the coil at each bend.

Avoid this product. Goodness knows what chemicals they put into these hoses but they smell like a toxic dump *and* they don't work well.

I've tried several types of sprayers - some expensive (English, brass) and others on sale from a discount store - and this one is the best by far. The hose reel has one very bad fault.The fitting for the hose is outside the reel, so you have to run the hose through the side of the reel and to the fitting.When you roll up the hose, it kinks because of the tight curve, and, puts such a strain on the fitting that leaks are also a problem.I bought 2 right angles, 3 two-inch pieces, and hose fittings and brought the fitting to the inside of the reel and it works fine now.Another problem is when you pull only a short section of hose off the reel, it keeps spinning and unreels the rest of the hose onto the floor.
It will do, but certainly is no more than that.Definitely too high priced for what you get, and the modifications you have to make.

review for price.First of all, the price isn't horrible.I bought two for $30.The cheaper soaker hoses are available for less, but I have not seen these for less than about $15, and I needed two anyway so I bought a 2 pack.And the shipping is free for the two, so the dude that complained has no clue.These things are heavy and expensive to ship!

They soak as well as soaker hoses can.They are well made, the hardware is solid, and the flow distribution excellent.I did have one complaint, the cap on the end came off easy the first time and spewed water out the end.It could have been loose, but it wasn't easy to put on firmly when I replaced it.

Getting them to uncurl is annoying, but I am assuming that is normal.You have to run them a while and the curls gradually work themselves out letting you thread them through the garden more easily.

I have seen people complaining that various soaker hoses are slow.That is a general characteristic.You are asking your water system to disperse water over 50 feet, not out of a single spigot.So it takes patience.It also takes gallons and gallons of water to deep soak an entire garden.

I set them up for my wife for fool-proof watering of my garden.She just plugs in the main hose and turns it on (I used plastic fast connectors), a Y and 2 soaker hoses.

Anyway, the quality is great and the hoses should last for years.End cap is cheap and concerns me.I would give it four stars, but the guy with one star has to be undone.

I own two of these and love them.This has the most flexible scheduling I've ever seen.You can use the mist setting which allows the timer to run for 2,5,10, or 15 minutes then set off for 10 minutes then turn back on again.This is the best feature as it allows the water to soak into the ground instead of run off not to mention lower watering bills for the same green lawn.
If you have weak water pressure, using this mist setting to have two of the timers alternating between on and off.One is on for 10 minutes while the other is off.

An outstanding product but missing numerous small parts.This thing is serious heavy duty and you won't find anything like it at Lowes or Home Depot.Big Balloon tires lets you push it anywhere.It will in fact store at least 300 feet of hose.I have a hundred foot pro grade on it and doesn't even dent its obvious capacity.NO PLASTIC HERE--reinforce all threaded conections with one wrap of plumber's thread tape.A little seapage on mine but no big deal.

I'm assuming the product was already assembled and then disassemble for shipment to me.The screws, nuts, washers, etc. were loose in the container which was holed during shipment.Some of these small parts probably fell out.Luckily I keep leftover parts from everything and had what I needed to complete assembly without contacting the seller.

Still five stars for obvious quality.

Gilmour 17 Twin Shut-Off Valves Hose Connector, Teal/Black Review

I had one of these put ahead of a Gilmour 9400 timer on a hose bib connection.BAD IDEA.The timer shut-off causes a lot of water hammer and this broke the tee.That is, the hammer, after about a month, caused a crack in the tee that allowed a LOT of water leakage.

If you're just looking for a tee for convience then this is a nice one.The knobs on the valve are big and easy to use.

Just DO NOT use it in a constant supply situation where there will be any sort of hard shut off as the plastic WILL crack.

I ran over the end of my garden hose with the edge of my mower and the threading for the end was smashed beyond repair.So I went to a local Big Box home supply store and got a $3 compression fitting like this item.Only it was junk.It was a thin piece of pot metal and apparently put together by child slave labor.It went on and leaked everywhere, not just where you would expect it to (from the hose end) but from the connecting point where the threading met the compression fitting!

So, I was looking for something more substantial.This thing fit the bill.It anchors itself on the hose with a couple of screws, so the compression is good, and it's a thick solid chuck of metal throughout, with actual brass (not chrome plated slag).It hasn't leaked a drop since I put it on.The cost isn't too bad if you have Prime.But in hindsight, buying a replacement hose probably wouldn't have been a bad alternative.But that seems wasteful to me and this thing was WAY better than the garbage I found in the stores.

My sister bought this one for me and I should have made her get her money back.If I knew she spent this much I would have insisted!I hate plastic hose carts of any type. It is thiner/less substantial than I thought it would be.It kinks just as easily as the very cheap old hose it replaced (which probably needed replacing anyways).In hindsight, when at Walmart recently I saw superior hoses at or below the price I payed for this one on Amazon. 2 problems with this hose:

a. It kinks. Which was a major issue.

b. The side of the hose which connects to my hose bib has a flexible plastic screw that kept hitting the siding (of my house that was around the hose bib) and made it very difficult for me to tighten the hose to the hose bib.

Hence I needed to return this product.

Other than these 2 issues the hose looked nice.

Colorite Element ELCF34075 Contractor Farm Lead Free, Kink Free 3/4-Inch-by-75-Foot Garden Hose, Brick Review

This is a great hose! This hose seems to actually prevent kinking due to it's rigidity, which I like a lot. BEWARE: Many people would claim it's "hard to maneuver", but it's a necessary evil to REALLY prevent kinking. You'll have to deal with it and learn to love it. Other kink-free hoses prevent re-kinking in the same place, but don't actually prevent kinking. This one seems to prevent it totally (in most cases, of course). This hose is excellent for high water flow in any situation. A must have for low pressure situations, rain barrels, or anything else where you want water fast, due to it's large size. 3/4" hoses allow much more water flow with a minimum amount of pressure loss due to friction. In my opinion, anything less is inadequate, and a waste of your watering time. The female fittings are really heavy duty brass with a 4" kink guard, and the males look like semi-heavy duty zinc with 4" of padding on the end. Both are a unique, ergonomic design, and they feel and look like they'll last forever. The hose has reinforced striations longways which give it an octagonal shape. It does claim to be lead free and drinking water safe, although water from it tastes like hose. The Amazon report DOES NOT include that there is a lifetime warranty, but there IS. You must keep the receipt and packaging and read the directions. It's also a great value! I highly recommend this hose.

Claber 9567 Metal-Jet Pistol Garden Hose Nozzle Review

Very good product. Very rugged, easy to adjust spray (though a little different from others)built in flow adjustment (separate from spray adjustment). Easy lock. Forget those home center throwaways. It used to be you could get a decent nozzle from Gilmour for example but the stuff they sell at the home centers is junk. I've gone through two of those a season for the last several years. I expect this one to last forever. This nozzle has a metal core and is solidly built. I also purchased a Claber Multi-Jet at the same time. It is more adjustable, but not as sturdy as this one.Both are very good.

I hope you'll find this review helpful. I bought it to be used with my also new karcher k2.16 which it's the smallest of the karcher's electric washers and it works veeeeeeeeeeery good, pretty simple but it's a very good quality product!

The kit contains 3 parts:

Female-female quick release which was better than the one i had attached in my water hose.

male-male connector which is the one used on my karcher

female-male which is intended to be used when the pressure washer has a male intake.

because i already had quick connect on my water hose as well as my car-detailing fittings like gillmour foamaster, i only needed the male-male but because i ordered this together with the karcher, i didn't know the kind of connection needed but.. with the remaining two parts, i'm planning to use it to connect two hoses when extra length is needed... just fantastic! a quick connect extension!

if you're out there looking for quick connect for your water fittings, this one it's well made, has a high quality look and a fair price.
